Hubby and I will be celebrating our 11th Wedding Anniversary next month. The road we traveled together these past 15 years together hasn't been an easy one. It has been filled with happiness, love, heartaches, and pain, but despite it all, we've managed to stay together...not by our own grace, but because of God's continuing guidance and blessing on our marriage and family.

Heal The Wound, But Leave The Scar
Labels: Forgiveness, Grief, Joshua, Life, Love, Poem, Religious
I know that I cannot rewrite history or change the past, but I can let God redeem it. We've all made mistakes and have been ashamed of our past failures.
My years of struggling with losing my son Joshua was and is still painful. The pain and wound of losing him felt like gaping emotional wounds. Today, the wound doesn't hurt as much, but there are times when the pain re-emerges, and I feel the wound opening up again. I have made peace with the way my life has worked out. However, I still bear scars from that experience, and I would not want to lose those scars, even if it were possible to do so. Those scars are a reminder of where I have been, and they are proof to others that I survived that experience. If I were to lose the scars, then I would lose the ability to encourage other people who are in the same painful place that I once was.
I am so grateful that the wounds are healed, but I am also grateful that I have the scars to remind myself of how God has healed me, and it is through God’s mercy that I have been forgiven for all the wrongs I have done in the past. Lord, please...Take the pieces of this heart and Heal the wound but leave the scar as a reminder of who I was, who I am, and who You want me to be.
by Point of Grace"
I used to wish that I could rewrite history
I used to dream that each mistake could be erased
Then I could just pretend
I never knew the me back then
I used to pray that You would take this shame away
Hide all the evidence of who I've been
But it's the memory of
The place You brought me from
That keeps me on my knees
And even though I'm free
Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar
I have not lived a life that boasts of anything
I don't take pride in what I bring
But I'll build an altar with
The rubble that You've found me in
And every stone will sing
Of what You can redeem
Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar
Don't let me forget
Everything You've done for me
Don't let me forget
The beauty in the suffering
Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar

Heavenly Celebration

Dear Mommy and Daddy,
I know you’re wondering how I’ll celebrate my 3rd birthday in heaven. I know you’re missing me most today. I feel your essence near.
God planned a special day for me. He told me with a wink. He’d ordered me a special cake (It’s Angel food, I think)
I’m getting lots of hugs from God. He’s really good at that...And every time that I walk by, He gives my head a pat.
Heaven will be filled with balloons or me. They float up through the clouds...And we have lots of clowns up here. That make us laugh out loud.
There is a birthday carousel, jeweled horses ride the wind with music playing oh so sweet…the magic never ends
I’ve made so many friends, you see. We laugh and play and sing. We ride our bikes and play jump rope...and sleep in Angel’s wings.
We’ll have our cake and ice cream, and open gifts, surprise! But we don’t blow out our candles here...Instead, they light the skies.

Some People (Author Unknown)
Labels: Friendship, Life, Poem, Religious

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. Who has left footprints on your heart? I found this on a website and it got me thinking, who has left footprints on my heart? The answer...my husband, my children, my family, and my friends!
Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same. Some people come into our lives and quickly go... Some stay for awhile and embrace our silent dreams. They help us become aware of the delicate winds of hope...and we discover within every human spirit there are wings yearning to fly.
They help our hearts to see that the only stairway to the stars is woven with dreams...and we find ourselves unafraid to reach high. They celebrate the true essence of who we are...and have faith in all that we may become.
Some people awaken us to new and deeper realizations...for we gain insight from the passing whisper of their wisdom Throughout our lives we are sent precious souls...meant to share our journey however brief or lasting their stay they remind us why we are here:
To learn... to teach... to nurture... to love
Some people come into our lives to cast a steady light upon our path and guide our every step their shining belief in us
helps us to believe in ourselves. Some people come into our lives to teach us about love...The love that rests within ourselves.
Let us reach out to others and feel the bliss of giving for love is far richer in action that it ever is in words.
Some people come into our lives and they move our souls to sing and make our spirits dance. They help us to see that everything on earth is part of the incredibility of life...and that it is always there for us to take of its joy.
Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same.

The Road of Life (Author Unknown)

As you travel through life, there are always those times when decisions just have to be made, when the choices are hard, and solutions seem scarce, and the rain seems to soak your parade!
There are some situations where all you can do is to simply let go and move on, gather courage together, and choose a direction that carries you toward a new dawn.
Still placing 1 foot in front of the other. It sure does seem like I'm on a 1,000 mile journey!
So pack up your troubles and take a step forward. The process of change can be tough, but think about all the excitement ahead if you can be stalwart enough!
There could be adventures you never imagined just waiting around the next bend, and wishes and dreams just about to come true in ways you can’t yet comprehend!
Perhaps you’ll find friendships that spring from new interests as you challenge your status quo and learn there are so many
options in life, and so many ways you can grow!
Perhaps you’ll go places you never expected, and see things that you’ve never seen, or travel to fabulous, faraway worlds and wonderful spots in between!
Perhaps you’ll find warmth and affection and caring, a “somebody special” who’s there to help you stay centered and listen with interest to stories and feelings you share.
Perhaps you’ll find comfort in knowing your friends are supportive of all that you do and believe that whatever decisions you make, they’ll be the right choices for you!
So keep putting one foot in front of the other and taking your life day by day.
There’s a brighter tomorrow that’s just down the road. Don’t look back, you’re not going that way!

Empty Arms (Author Unknown)

Holding out these empty arms Cursing my disillusionment Why did I imagine it could be any other way that I could have been content, dreams that’s all it was, Mothers arms are not meant to be empty I look up at the sky, tears filling my eyes, Searching the stars trying to find my angel The brightest star I search for Finding it the first tear rolls down my cheek Memories flood back of our short time together Love totally encasing my heart as I look at that star I know you are there baby I will never forget I just can’t come to accept as I look that you are so far I would have cuddled and loved you kept you safe Within my arms holding you in a tight embrace I will search these skies for you each night But just for now have to leave you in Gods guiding light Sleep well my baby one day my arms and heart will be full again As I join you and give you all that was meant to be.
